Camera Shots Quiz
For my first preliminary project, we were tasked to determine and provide 15 shot types in order to create a short story of our own which consisted of working with inanimate objects.
I decided to tell a suspenseful story between two characters in which they found themselves going on about their days, as they suddenly get separated from one another forcing them to find their way back to each other with certain obstacles as they go through along the story. The characters consisted between a tomato and a bean, and the side character was the human who misplaced them and separated them in the first place. The setting, was of course in the kitchen.
I believe I did a good job with the high angle shots and the extreme close-ups because, for the high angle shots i made sure to explain how this angle can be used to make a subject appear smaller or more vulnerable. As for the extreme-close ups I focused on their ability to capture intricate details and convey intense emotion. Although I feel like I could have done a better job with the medium shots due to a lack of good quality, I also believe the characters were too close to the camera at the time of the shot being taken. A little bit of distance and an improve on quality would've done a great improvement on this short story.

This high angle shot is used to make the character feel small and vulnerable in a sense as it is being picked up and placed someplace elsewhere.

This shot is used to create a feeling of sentiment, as we can see the tomato's point of view as he is looking back at the bean while they are being taken away from each other.

This shot is used in order to introduce a new character to the story which is the banana, who will play a big role in helping the tomato and the bean reunite by making a bridge for the bean to climb up the bowl.
Medium Shot
This shot is used to establish some sort of suspense because in this particular scene, the bean is looking at the bridge in realization of the obstacles he will have to overcome.
Over the shoulder shot
This shot gives us an insight on the tomato's point of view as the bean approaches the bowl to start making his way up.

This shot conveys suspense as we can observe droplets of "sweat" coming from the tomato as he observes the bean crossing the bridge. This sweat is to indicate the current situation is overstimulating.

This shot concludes the story as we can see that the bean successfully crossed and found its way back to the tomato, now finally showing them in this scene as "content and reunited".
